Big plans for ProjectSpaces in 2009
We're planning some big things for ProjectSpaces in 2009. Here is a laundry list of what is currently on our roadmap. As always, we love to hear input and suggestions from ProjectSpaces customers so keep them coming!
Here's what we're currently working on:
- Usability improvements (always the top of our list)
- Analytics/ reporting
- Multilingual support (Spanish, French, Arabic, etc)
- Recurring events
- More powerful project dashboard
- Integration with other tools and services
- Enhanced social networking functionality
- Improved discussion board
- Tighter Outlook integration
If you have any suggestions for things you would like to see please let us know!

I'll be interested to see more about analytics/reporting. I think it would be really handy to be able to see and report on activity happening on a site - who's accessing, how often, what are they downloading, etc.

I'd like to see user configurable task status codes.
Also, risk and issue logs with user configurable status codes, categorisation, and prioritisation.

Just to echo Tom Buchnan's comment, I would really take advantage of this site traffic information.
We ususally use the project pages to share product data with colleagues and customers and it would be very helpful to see who is accessing what.

I'd like to see document check in/out and versioning

What about bug / issues / tickets ?
I think that is the only thing missing hear. I have to use some other solution to track this stuff.

The biggest thing I would like are improvements to the Discussion section. We use the tool as a Subject Matter Expert Forum and some basic "forum" type features are missing:
1. Ability to sort forum by latest topic
2. Ability to make a "sticky" topic
3. Ability to paste or link to documents or pictures
4. Editable responses
Adding these features would make my life a whole lot easier!!

Right now we don't use the calendar because it is not very user friendly. We are a close-working office and it would be nice to be able to see each other's appointments. If you could make it so that the project spaces calendars got RSS feeds from individual calendars, that would be great.
Also, it is really important to add recurring events, and also to be able to edit events that you already added.

1.) The ability to send notifications from updates to discussion threads. Currently, only creating a new thread provides a "submit and notify" option.
2.) When notifications are sent (on file updates in the Documentation section, for example), you can choose to send the notification to one of three different groups (controlled by three radio buttons): All members of the project; selected groups; or specific members.
In many cases, I have found a need to send a notification to one or two groups and one or two special members. In order to do this, I have to select each member individually, or remember to send two separate notifications. My request: allow me to select from one or more groups and one or more specific members.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions! We are getting to release a new codebase in the next few weeks which will drastically increase file bandwidth speeds by using more caching and other tricks on the back end.
Also due to high demand we will be adding notification functionality for discussions. We'll be sure to keep everyone posted as this gets closer to the actual release date.

The analytics/reporting tool does not give me any information i can use. I would like to see who is online visiting a project and when the project was last visited and by who. At the moment I do not know who has visited a project.
Also, why is uploading limited to 5 files and why is there no grouping facility that allows you to select a number of files to upload?
