FAQs
Why shouldn't I just use one of the cheapo collaboration tools out there? As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Our customers are willing to pay for ProjectSpaces for the easy-to-use and intuitive interface that helps them collaborate quickly and efficiently. Unlike other web-based tools that try to be everything to everybody, ProjectSpaces focuses on doing one thing well, and doesn't include confusing switches and gadgets (not to mention bells and whistles). Our customers' users don't want to sit through training courses to learn new tools. Also, we don't make money through advertising or selling our customers' information to third parties. Instead we charge a fair price for really good service. Lastly, our customers know we're going to be around for a while as we've been in business since 1997.
How many users can use it?
Each project can have an unlimited number of users for the same flat monthly fee (see our pricing page for more information).
Do my users need to have any special software?
No, users can access ProjectSpaces from anywhere in the world with a standard web browser and internet connection. ProjectSpaces supports Internet Explorer 6.0 and above and Mozilla Firefox for both Macs and PCs. We partially support Safari but a couple features don't work in Safari because it is too cool.
How much storage space do I get?
Lots! Our basic plan comes standard with one gigabyte of storage space, and we can easily add more if needed. (see our pricing page for more information on storage).
Can different users have different levels of access?
Yes. ProjectSpaces supports four different levels of user access:
- Guest - Everyone who is associated with this project will have guest access to this extranet. Guests have read access to all functions, can download documents, can post replies to discussion topics, and send email.
- Content Editor - Editors have read and write rights to all functions. They can post material and can modify or delete items they have posted (but not content posted by other users).
- Project Administrator - Project Admins have full project access, including the Project Administration Module. They can edit and delete content posted by other users.
- System Administrator - System Administrators have access to multiple projects, are able to create new projects (license allowing), and configure ProjectSpaces-wide variables like the login page content and ProjectSpaces keywords.
How secure is ProjectSpaces?
ProjectSpaces provides secure, password-protected access. For an additional level of security, clients can choose to add an SSL certificate to their ProjectSpaces for an additional fee.
Do you host it for us?
Yes, Forum One hosts ProjectSpaces for you, letting you focus on accomplishing your goals, and not waste time on solving hardware, software, and database problems.
